معرفت‌شناسی اختلافِ‌نظر و شواهدِ مرتبه بالاتر

این مقاله نقش یا کارکرد شواهد مرتبه بالاتر را در بحث اختلافِ‌نظر معرفتی بررسی ‌می‌کند. پس از ارائه تعریفی از شواهد مرتبه اول و شواهد مرتبه بالاتر و تاکید بر تمایز میان آنها، به نفعِ این دیدگاه استدلال ‌می‌کنم که شواهد مرتبه بالاتر مستقل از شواهد مرتبه اول، شاهد به شمار نمی‌آیند. سپس از طریق مثال داروی اختلال یکی از مشهورترین دیدگاه‌های معرفت‌شناسان معاصر، یعنی دیدگاه دیوید کریستن‌سن را درباره شواهد مرتبه بالاتر و نقش آنها در اختلاف‌نظر توضیح می‌دهم و آن را نقد ‌می‌کنم. در ادامه استدلال تامس کِلی را درباره تاثیرنداشتن شواهد مرتبه بالاتر شرح می‌دهم و به نقد آن می‌پردازم. در این بخش چگونگی کارکرد استدلال اصلی کِلی علیه تاثیر شواهد مرتبه بالاتر را نشان می‌دهم و در عین حال، به این انتقاد واردشده بر استدلال کِلی پاسخ می‌دهم که تاثیر شواهد مرتبه بالاترلزوماً موید دیدگاه وزن‌دهی برابر است.

Epistemology Of Disagreement And Higher OrderEvidence

This paper investigates the role of higherorder evidence in the debates concerning the epistemology of disagreement. After providing definitions for firstorder and higherorder evidence respectively and emphasizing the difference between them, I propose an argument for the view that higherorder evidence can be considered as evidence just in the absence of firstorder evidence. Then even through assessing the example concerning the reasoningdistorting drug, I investigate and criticize one of the most important views in the epistemology of disagreement, namely David Christensen#039;s view. In this part, I defend the similarity between the role of higherorder evidence and undercutter evidence and the sameness of their functions in the epistemology of disagreement. Finally, I propose and assess Thomas Kelly#039;s argument for the neutral role of higherorder evidence in the debate. In this part, after defending Kelly#039;s argument from an objection according to which considering the probative force of higherorder evidence leads to Equal Weight View, I will show how Kelly#039;s argument claims to work.
