مقایسه مفهوم «خود» در نظریه اخلاقی ارسطو و آین رند

مفهوم «خود» یکی از مفاهیم بسیار مهم در فلسفه اخلاق است. تعریفی که از این مفهوم ارائه شده و بر مبنای آن مرزهای خود و دیگری تعیین می‌گردد، نتایج مهمی در شکل‌گیری یک نظریه اخلاقی دارد. آین رند و ارسطو نیز در نظریه اخلاقی‌شان به مسئله خود از منظر اخلاق توجه داشته‌اند و بر همین اساس حدود و ثغور نظریه اخلاقی خود را مشخص کرده‌اند. بخش قابل توجهی از نظریه اخلاقی رند با محوریت مبانی ارسطویی شکل گرفته است. انسان‌شناسی رند که از آن نتایج اخلاقی می‌گیرد و تاکید بنیادی وی بر نقش عقلانیت در اخلاق تا حد زیادی ارسطویی است، ولی تفاوت‌های مهمی نیز میان نظریه اخلاقی رند و ارسطو وجود دارد که از نظر نگارنده این تفاوت‌ها در طرز تلقی متفاوت این دو متفکر از مفهوم خود از منظر اخلاق و ارتباط آن با دیگری ریشه دارد. در این نوشتار تلاش می‌کنیم ضمن بیان مرزهای خود در نظریه اخلاقی رند و ارسطو، به مقایسه این مفهوم در آرای این دو متفکر پرداخته و لوازم و نتایج آن را در نظریه اخلاقی هر یک بیان کنیم.

A Comparison Of The Concept Of "Self" In The Moral Theory Of Aristotle And Ayn Rand

The concept of quot;selfquot; is very significant in moral philosophy. The definition of this concept and the demarcation of self and the other have important repercussions in the formation of a moral theory. Ayn Rand and Aristotle have considered the problem of self in their moral theories, and they delimited their theories accordingly. A significant part of Rand’s moral theory is influenced by Aristotelian principles. Rand’s theory of human person as well as her emphasis on the role of rationality in ethics has an Aristotelian character, but there are significant differences between their respective moral theories that I think are rooted in their differences over the concept of the self in a moral sense and the relation between the self and the other. In this paper, I seek to elaborate the limits of the self in the moral theories of Rand and Aristotle, and then compare this concept in their views and explain its consequences in their moral theories.
