The composition of the scarab beetle fauna of pakistan is virtually unknown. what is known is largely a result of older taxonornic studies that included very little in aterial from pakistan. recent collect ng ii northern pakistan revealed the presence ol' several species of scarahneidae that are listed here ith their distributional and temporal data these collecting events discovered seeral scarab species that constitute new country records br pakistan: popillia cyanea i lope (rutel in),oiyctes elegans prel i (dynastinae),clinteria conjinis pseudoconjinis schurholt,gametis jucunda (faldermann),and clinteria kiugi (hope) (all cetoniinae). collection of new material and inventories of existing collections are needed in order to explore and catalogue biotic diversity and to facilitate further research on this diverse and charismatic group of insects in pakistan.
