چکیده    Two species of carps, catla catla, hamilton and ctenopharyngodon idella,valenciennes,1844,were examined for fungal infection from a private fish farm in lahore. both c. catla and c. idella were confirmed to have fungal infection, saprolegniasis, and concurrent infection of saprolegnia sp. and crustacean copepod lernaea sp. two fungal genera saprolegnia and achyla and two lernaea species,l. cyprinacea and l. ctenopharngodonis were identified from these fishes. the prevalence of saprolegniasis was 75% and 43.3% in c. catla and c. idella respectively. concurrent infection of saprolegnia sp. and lernaea sp. was 25% in c. catla and 56.6% in c. idella. occurrence of saprolegniasis is correlated to ecological and biological factors. copyright 2012 zoological society of pakistan.
