Protein fractionation analysis of fowl adenovirus serotype 4 (FAV-4) associated with fowl hydropericardium-hepatitis Syndrome in Pakistan

The primary objective of this study was to reveal the structural polypeptides of local fowl adenovirus serotype 4 (fav-4) associated with hydropericardium-hepatitis syndrome (hhs) using 12.5% resolving gel. for the isolation of virus,livers samples were aseptically collected from four different field outbreaks in commercial broilers from faisalabad. a 15-45% (w/v) sucrose gradient was used for purification of virus samples. virus was confirmed by agar gel precipitation test. the protein fractions of local isolates were revealed by using 12.5% gel with discontinuous buffer system for sodium dodecyl sulphatepolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (sdspage). twelve structural polypeptides having molecular weights from 13.2 kda to 110.0 kda were observed. copyright © 2012 zoological society of pakistan.
