Some characterizations of exponential distribution by upper record values

Suppose {xi,i > 1} be a sequence of independent and identically distributed absolutely continuous random variables and xu(1)xu(2),... be the upper records from the sequence. in this paper we will consider several distributional properties of the upper records from the exponential distribution. based on these distributional properties,we present some characterizations of the exponential distribution. © 2010 pakistan journal of statistics.
