Exploring the correlation between serious leisure and recreation specialization during role transition of food critics using addictive tendency as an moderator

With the development of modern food culture,the numbers of food critics or food review commentators actively participating in various kinds of food review programs are increasing fast. the food critics are keen to discover new food tastes and new dining experiences,and they also love to make comparison with other gourmet foods. their involvement in food review programs ranges from low-involvement pursuit of good taste food to high-level involvement that the food critics have to do own research. from another viewpoint,through the series of transition to high-level involvement in food review programs with specialization,their behaviour will be transcended from simply participation as leisure activity to becoming new focus of life. our study was based on the theories of stebbins (1982) and bryan (1977) who proposed that any recreation will eventually become a specialization. we analyzed the involvement of food critics in food review programs and explored the causal relationship between serious leisure
