An empirical study of foreign direct investment and economic growth in China: Based on the provincial data

China has made remarkable achievements in both economic development and attracting foreign direct investment affects economic growth in china since 1970s. this paper studies the growth effect of foreign direct investment (fdi) in china based on inter-provincial economic data. controlled for factors,an empirical model is established to study whether fdi has positive effect on economic growth in china. compared to existed researches,not only the overall relationship between fdi and economic growth is studied,but also the regional classification. the interaction of fdi and human capital is introduced into the empirical model to test the technology spillovers effect of fdi. © 2013 pakistan journal of statistics.
