چکیده    Accurate prediction for build rates of positive displacement mud motor (pdm) with bent housing is a key issue for wellbore trajectory control,which plays a significant role for horizontal drilling. accurate build rates are hardly predicted by mechanical method because of the uncertainty of formation. predictionsby statistical method,which can address the issue of uncertainty of formation,require a great amount of data to get effective result. a method integrating mechanical model with statistics method is not only to design rational experiments without a large number of times,but to establish an effective model. this method is that to create a model for prediction with practical and mechanical build rates and four factors selected by mechanics analyze,including weight on bit (wob),inclination angle,borehole curvature and steering force,via orthogonal regression. prediction with data from wells in sc region in sichuan basin shows high accordance with practical performance,which is more than 80 percent,which proves the model is valuable for industrial utilization. © 2014 pakistan journal of statistics.
