چکیده    Foliar anatomical investigations of some members belonging to tribe eragrostideae (poaceae) were carried out. in total of 8 species belonging to 6 genera were collected in wild from salt range region of pakistan for anatomical studies. maximum length of long cells was observed in genus eragrostis. macrohairs are found absent in all species except eragrostis papposa. acrachne racemosa is identified by dumb bell shaped or cross shaped silica bodies while saddle shaped silica bodies are present in other species. desmostachya bipinnata is distinct by having a tall girder of bulliform cells, from adaxial to abaxial side. microhairs with hemispherical distal cell, saddle shaped silica bodies and bulliform cells deeply penetrating the mesophyll are the diagnostic characters, which justify all the species in the same tribe.
