چکیده    The effects of seed soaking with salicylic acid or ascorbic acid on pumpkin seedlings growth under saline (10 ds m -1) conditions were investigated. seedlings fresh weight, protein contents, protease and nitrate reductase activities were significantly affected by 15 and 30 mg l -1 salicylic acid and 30 mg l -1 ascorbic acid priming treatments, under both normal and saline conditions. priming reduced the severity of the salt stress, the amelioration was better due to 30 mg l -1 ascorbic acid or 30 mg l -1 salicylic acid treatments as these treatments showed best results on seedling growth, fresh and dry matter production under non-saline and saline environments. application of seed priming with ascorbic acid and salicylic acid in pumpkin ameliorate the adverse effects of salt stress.
