   COMPARATIVE SURVIVAL OF CHRYSOPERLA CARNEA (STEPHENS) (NEUROPTERA: CHRYSOPIDAE) IN COTTON WITH AND WITHOUT INSECTICIDES UNDER FIELD CONDITIONS

چکیده    The present study was designed to ascertain the comparative survival of natural population of predator, chrysoperla carnea (stephens) (neuroptera: chrysopidae) in cotton under field conditions, conducted at tareen farm in lodhran during year 2007. the weekly data was collected from each replicate of both unsprayed and insecticides sprayed plants from july to october by observing eggs, larvae and pupae of c. carnea from five randomly selected plants. the results showed that count of eggs on unsprayed plants was in increasing trend from 2.8 to 25 per plant, larvae from 1.3 to 6.3 while pupae were recorded as 0.4 to 3.4 per plant from july to october. few eggs, pupae and larvae of c. carnea were observed in insecticide treatment from july to october which showed the survival of naturally resistant strains of this predator. the overall occurrence of c. carnea eggs, larvae and pupae was highest in the month of august and september while lowest in june and july.
