|
An experiment was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of bifenthrin (talstar) 10 ec, primicarb (pirimore) 50 dp, furathiocarb (deltanet) 400 ec and carbosulfan (advantage) 20 ec for the control of aphid (acyrthosiphon pisum (harris) on guar crop (cyamopsis tetragonolobus l.) at adaptive research farm karor, distt. layyah, during kharif seasons in the years, 2006, 2007 and 2008. five treatments (four insecticides and a control) were arranged in randomized complete block design with three replications. all the insecticides caused significant decrease in the pest population as compared to the control. furathiocarb appeared as the most effective by reducing aphids’ number to the maximum and resulted in the grain yield increase (1160 kg, 715 kg and 672 kg ha^-1 during the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively) as compared to other insecticides and control treatment.
