انگیزش در اصطلاحات علمی: مطالعۀ موردی ‌واژه‌های فیزیک مصوب فرهنگستان زبان و ادب فارسی

ارتباط میان مفهوم علمی و واژۀ مبیّن آن از یک طرف و ارتباط میان همان واژه در زبانی مانند فارسی و معادل انگلیسی آن از طرف دیگر، دو بُعد مربوط به مسئلۀ انگیزش اصطلاحات است که در این مقاله به‌ترتیب تحت عنوان «انگیزش درون‌زبانی» و «انگیزش بینازبانی» مورد بررسی قرار خواهد گرفت. انواع انگیزش درون‌زبانی عبارت‌اند از: آوایی، ساختواژی (شامل اشتقاق، ترکیب، ترکیب‌واشتقاق و ساخت نحوی) و معنایی (شامل استعاره و مجاز). در انگیزش بینازبانی مقوله‌های معادل‌گزینی واژه‌بنیاد (شامل قرض‌گیری، ترجمۀ قرضی و جورسازی آوایی- معنایی) و واژه‌گزینی مفهوم‌بنیاد مطرح است. داده‌های این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که اصطلاحات علمی، هم در انگلیسی و هم در فارسی، دارای درجات متفاوت انگیخته، نیمه‌انگیخته و ناانگیخته هستند و انگیزش ساختواژی از نوع گروه نحوی در انگیزش درون‌زبانی و ترجمۀ قرضی در انگیزش بینازبانی بسیار پررنگ و چشمگیر است.

terminological motivation in scientific terms: a case study of approved terms in physics

the present article explores two aspects of terminological motivation; namely, ‘intralinguistic motivation’, defined as the relationship between a technical concept and the term denoting it, and ‘interlinguistic motivation’, defined as the relationship between that same term in a language like persian and its equivalent in english. intraliguistic motivation comprises phonetic, morphological and semantic (including metaphor and metonymy) subtypes while interlinguistic motivation involves semasiological and onomasiological approach to terminology and term formation. the data collected indicate that technical terms in both english and persian are of different motivated, semi-motivated, and unmotivated levels. it is further found that while the syntactic type of morphological motivation is predominant in intralinguistic motivation, loan-translation predominates the interlinguistic one.
