The evaluation of the patients who were admitted to the Emergency Department of Kaş State Hospital because of tick biting [Kene isi{dotless}ri{dotless}ǧi{dotless} nedeniyle Kaş Devlet Hastanesi acil servisine başvuran hastalari{dotless}n deǧerlendirilmesi]

Tick-borne diseases are a serious and topical epidemiological problem in numerous european countries. the tick bite can lead to crimean congo hemorrhagic fever disease. there has been an increased awareness about tick and tick bite. in our district tick bite has became important problem recently. the aim of this study to evaluate patients who were admitted to emergency department for tick bite. between july 2007 and february 2009,168 people who with tick biting admitted to kaş state hospital emergency department. their datum have been evaluated retrospectively. there were 168 patients with a mean age of 28.5 years. male and female exposure to the tick biting was nearly equal. 48 patients were under 10 years old and 41 patients over 40 years old. 53.57% patients resided in rural region. of ticks 81.5% were removed by doctor and 18.5% were removed by person himself or by their relatives. of bitings,8.34% were fixed at head-neck region,11.9% on trunk. whole blood count was normal in all the patients.
