|
Having some properties like low density,high temperature resistance,corrosion resistance and excellent biocompatibility,has made titanium and its alloys to be used in many industrial and biomedical applications. as a new production process,powder injection molding (pim) refers to a combination of powder metallurgy and plastic injection molding technologies. pim method offers several unique advantages in mass production of small and complex-shaped parts. in this study,the pim optimal parameters of molding and sintering stages,for fabricating of ti-6al-4v alloy has been determined. to realize the molding and sintering parameters,taguchi method of experimental design has been applied. as a result,ti-6al-4v feedstock studies exhibited flow rate of 20 cm3/s,injection pressure of 1100 bar,holding pressure of 60%,injection temperature of 140°c,sintering temperature of 1250°c,sintering dwell time of 1 hour,sintering heating rate of 1°c/min,gas flow rate of 10 lit/min,as optimum parameters.
