   Damage simulation by finite element updating using vibration characteristics [Titreşim verisiyle güncellenmiş sonlu eleman modeliyle hasar simulasyonu]

چکیده    This study aims to numerically regenerate and quantify the structural damage,findings of the structural identification of the ambient vibration data are used as a reference for the simulation studies. mac (modal assurance criterion),comac (coordinate modal assurance criterion) and imac (inverse modal assurance criterion) methods were performed by monitoring the output sensivities. finally,consistent model was considered for damage assesment based on edia (equivalent earthquake pushover analysis),tmia (single mode pushover analysis),çmia (multi mode pushover analysis) and ztaa (time domain analysis) for life safety performance level for the target earthquake as defined in tdy (turkish earthquake code). contribution of the modification has been observed very well globally in the results of the tmia and partially at the basement in ztaa whereas the results of the edia and çmia have not changed much. at the 1st story,çmia and ztaa gave damage distribution compatible to damage survey beside the other methods. total number of the vibration modes to be taken into account in the analysis and their simulation potentials affect the results of the çmia. results of çmia and ztaa for the raw numerical model gave unexpected damage on the top story columns while the updated model is able to regenerate exact condition. among the analysis methods,tmia and in some way edia reproduce same member damage distribution under the target roof displacement as determined by the tdy. this study also shows that the final record reflecting the existing condition as built also offers possibilities for certification for construction quality and insurance practices.
