   Adsorption and separation capabilities of short linear alkanes in two MOFs with different topology

چکیده    Monte carlo simulation was used to assess the adsorption and separation capabilities of short alkane mixtures in two metal-organic frameworks mofs with different topology,namely mil-53(al) and irmof-9. the simulation results demonstrate that the maximum adsorbed amount of propane in irmof-9 is about two times as much as that of mil-53(al),and the selectivity to propane in irmof-9 is much higher than that in mil-53(al). the adsorption sites of short alkane mixtures at different pressures were investigated to understand the differences between these two mofs by mct (computer tomography for materials) technique. it is observed that mil-53(al) have two kinds of adsorption sites in the one main rhombic-shaped channel,whereas,irmof-9 with interweaving structures have three kinds of adsorption sites. more adsorption sites result in better adsorption and better selectivity.
