چکیده    For the first time eleven compounds have been isolated from the ethyl acetate soluble fraction of whole plant of grewia tenax namely,β-sitosterol (1),β-sitosteryl acetate (2),β-amyrin (3),β-amyrin acetate (4),5α,8α-epidioxyergosta-6,22-diene-3β- ol (5),5α,8α-epidioxyergosta-6,9(11),22-trien-3β-ol (6),α-taraxerol (7),betulin (8),stigmasterol (9),oleanolic acid (10) and stigmasterol 3-o-β-d-glucoside (11) respectively. all the compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity.
