A series of solid acid catalysts so 4 2-/zro 2-fe 3o 4 (scfz),so 4 2-/zro 2 -fe 3o 4-mgo (szm),so 4 2-/zro 2 -fe 3o 4-tio 2 (szt) and so 4 2-/zro 2 -fe 3o 4-zno (szz) are prepared in chemical co-precipitation method. the obtained solid acid catalysts are characterized in detail by x-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope (sem),transmission electron microscopy (tem) and vibrating sample magnetometer (vsm). the results show that the addition of oxides delays the amorphous-tetragonal and tetragonal-to-monoclinic phase transformation of zriconia,and the order of the thermal stability of tetragonal zirconia is szt,szm,szz,scfz. the superacid exhibits high catalytic activity in methanol dehydration to diethyl ether.
