چکیده    Mixture of waste low density polyethylene and makarwal coal was converted into fuel oil and gases in a laboratory scale microwave reactor. the process was carried out by the heat generated through the microwave-metal interaction. a tightly coiled wire of copper was used as the heat generating antenna. the generated heat was used for the pyrolysis of the mixture of coal and waste polyethylene. this process was found to give 63.5% oil and wax,12.5% aqueous liquid,5% gases and 19% residue. the nature of oil and wax was determined by the use gc-ms. however, aqueous liquid and gases were determined by chemical tests. the oil and wax were mainly composed of hydrocarbons and the gases were found to contain sulfides and hydrocarbons. the aqueous liquid was also found to contain sulfides. the process and nature of products were discussed in this communication.
