چکیده    We report herein dna interactions and antimicrobial studies of 3-nitrophenylferrocene (npf) [(η5-c5h 5fec5h4)c6h5no 2]. the dna binding studies were carried out by using cyclic voltammetric and uv-vis spectroscopic titrations along with viscosity measurements. the mode of interaction of the title compound was proved to be electrostatic interactions. the binding parameters like binding constant and free binding energy were determined from cyclic voltammetric and uvvis spectroscopic measurements showed significant interactions. the antimicrobial activity of title compound against gram-positive bacteria (staphylococcus aureus,micrococcus luteus) and gramnegative bacteria (escherichia coli,klebsiella pneumoniae) and fungal strains (aspergillus niger and aspergillus flavus) demonstrated significant activity.
