   Oligocephlate,a new α-glucosidase inhibitory neohopane triterpene from Vernonia oligocephala

چکیده    Oligocephlate (1),a new neohopane triterpene together with β-sitosterol (2),lupeol (3),oleanolic acid (4) and β-sitosterol-3-o- β-d-glucopyranoside (5) were isolated from the n-hexane soluble fraction of the methanolic extract of the whole plant of vernonia oligocephala. the structures of these compounds (1-5) were established by using 1d nmr ( 1h and 13c) and 2d nmr (hmqc,hmbc,cosy,noesy) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (eims,hreims). compound 1 showed inhibitory activity against enzyme α-glucosidase with ic50 value 18.5 μm.
