Electron ionization mass spectra of 3-(2' ,4 -dichlorophenylisocoumarin(1), 2-(2 ,4- dichlorobenzoylmethyl) benzoic acid (2), (dl)-3-2(2', 4'-dichlorophenyl)-3,4-dihydroisocoumarin(3),3-(2 -chloro-6 -fluorobenzyl)isocoumarin (4), 2-[2'-cxo-3'-(2-chloro-6-fluorophenyl) propyl] benzoic acid (5), (dl)-3-(2-chloro-6- flourobenzyl)-3,4-dihydroisocourmarin (6), methyl 2-[2'-oxo-3'-(2-chloro-6-fluorophenyl)propyl] benzoate (7), are descride in this paper. the major mass fragments formed by ring contractions and α -cleavage followed by the elimination of neutral fragments and radicals. the mass fragments are designed with the help of eims peaks
