چکیده
|
The current study describes the composite formation between wheat bran (wb) and levofloxacin drug. initially, the loading of drug on wheat bran was studied and well characterized by using ft-ir and sem techniques. before characterization, few parameters,i.e. ph,concentration and dosage have been optimized in order to cause maximum drug loading over wb surface. certain isotherm models were also employed for characteristic adsorption and found that the physical adsorption of drug molecule occurs onto wb (having vander waals type interaction). in addition, the thermodynamic study has also been carried out and results show that higher temperature causes decrease in drug adsorption. the negative value of enthalpy (δh) confirms that the drug adsorption process is exothermic. the positive values of δs reflect greater disorderness in the adsorption between solid/liquid interfaces. finally, the release profiles show that maximum drug (50-70%) is efficiently released in 50 min. © 2016,chemical society of pakistan. all rights reserved.
