Immobilization stress in pregnancy and the maternal brain’s response: An experimental study [Gebelik döneminde hareketsizlik stresi ve anne beyninin yanıtı; deneysel bir çalışma]

Objective: various stress factors have been shown to cause significant and permanent injury to both mother and foetus. the histological examination of the brains of pregnant mice exposed to chronic immobilization stress in terms of the mechanisms of cell death was the premise of this study.methods: twenty-one female mice weighing 20-25 g were used in the study,and 5 male balb/c mice weighing 25-30 g were used for mating. the study mice were divided into three groups: group i: control group (n=7),group ii: pregnant group (n=7),and group iii: pregnant chronic stress group (n=7). no intervention was performed on the mice in group 1 and normal brain histology was assessed. female mice assigned to the chronic stress group were exposed to 45 minutes of chronic immobilization stress every day between gestational days 6 and 18,at the same hours three times a day (09:00,12:00 and17:00).results: the brain cells obtained from the mothers were analyzed using routine histological paraffin and slices were obtained. the samples from the prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus (ca1,ca2,ca3,gd) were analyzed upon h
