Trapping of blister-like aneurysm of the internal carotid artery undetected on computed tomography angiography: A case report [Bilgisayarlı tomografi anjiografide saptanamayan internal karotid arter blister anevrizmasının traping yoluyla tedavisi: Olgu sunumu]

Blister like aneurysms (bla) are very rare lesions,arise on an unusual location with fragile aneurysm wall and obscure neck. small size and atypical localization may cause incomplete visualization of blas. a case of subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a bla located at the ophthalmic segment of the internal carotid artery (ica),skipped on the previously obtained three dimensional computed tomography (3d ct) angiography is presented. the right ophthalmic segment of the ica was trapped in consequence of intraoperative bleeding. knowing the primer collateral circulation prior to treatment of ica-bla is important to prevent catastrophic events during surgery. although there are several surgical strategies available to treat,blas have a high rate of intraoperative rupture and significant morbidity. clipping or wrapping of the ruptured site are common treatment techniques for a bla,still the optimal management remains unclear. © 2015,ege university press. all rights reserved.
