چکیده    A 25-year-old male patient presented with a one-month history of progressive right visual loss. magnetic resonance imaging showed 20x18 mm cystic lesion which has a mural nodule component with contrast and arisen from optic chiasm, optic nerve and optic tract. right frontotemporal craniotomy was performed and tumor was totally resected. the histological diagnosis was hemangioblastoma. the patient is not diagnosed as von hippel-lindau syndrome. to our knowledge, this is a rare case reported in the literature as opticochiasmatic hemangioblastoma without von hippel-lindau syndrome should remain in differential diagnosis of hemagioblastomas, optic nerve and chiasmatic cystic tumors should be kept in mind, especially in the absence of von hippel-lindau syndrome. © 2015,ege university press. all rights reserved.
