چکیده
|
Extramedullary hematopoiesis is a condition involving blood production in organs such as the liver,spleen,lymph nodes,paravertebral and retroperitoneal areas,spinal cord,scalp,pleura and thymus in order to compensate for the chronic anemia seen in chronic hemolytic disorders. spinal cord compression due to extramedullary hematopoiesis is rare and its treatment is controversial. we present a 26-year-old male patient who presented with paraparesis following spinal cord compression due to extramedullary hematopoiesis in this article. © 2015,ege university press. all rights reserved.
