فعالیت‌های هوشیاری افزا در حوزه واژگان: مطالعه موردی کتابهای آموزش زبان انگلیسی برای اهداف ویژه در ایران

واکاوی و نقد کتاب‌های زبان انگلیسی با اهداف ویژه در سال‌های اخیر مورد توجه بسیاری از پژوهشگران قرار گرفته است. ازطرف‌دیگر با توجه به بسیاری واژگان زبان انگلیسی، بهره‏گیری از فعالیت‏های هوشیاری‌افزا در کتاب‌های درسی می‏تواند فرایند یادگیری را تسهیل کند. ازاین‌رو، پژوهش حاضر به بررسی فعالیت‏های مربوط به واژه از حیث هوشیاری‌افزایی با استفاده از مدل ویلیس و ویلیس (1996) می‏پردازد. بدین منظور، سه کتاب منتشرشده توسط انتشارات سمت، انگلیسی برای دانشجویان رشته‏های علوم انسانی (ادبیات و زبان‌ها، هنر، معماری) (فرجامی، 1396)، انگلیسی برای دانشجویان رشتۀ روان‏شناسی (پیشقدم و بوری، 1396)، و انگلیسی برای دانشجویان رشتۀ جامعه‏شناسی (کشاورز و نوشی کوچکسرایی، 1394) مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. نتایج حاکی از آن بود که در هر سه کتاب، فعالیت‏های غیر‏هوشیاری‏‌افزا نسبت ‌به فعالیت‏های هوشیاری‏‌افزا از فراوانی بیشتری برخوردار بودند و در میان زیرشاخه‏های این فعالیت‏ها، «آموزش مرجع» بالاترین فراوانی را به خود اختصاص داد و «کشف بین‌زبانی» در هیچ‌ یک از کتاب‌ها یافت نشد. از آن جایی که فعالیت‏های هوشیاری‌افزا به تسریع یادگیری و افزایش انگیزه و تمرکز فراگیران منجر می‏شود، بهتر است مولفان محترم این کتاب‌ها، و شاید مولفان سایر کتب منتشرۀ سازمان سمت، به بازنگری کتاب‌ها از نظر افزودن فعالیت‏های هوشیاری‏‌افزا بپردازند.

vocabulary consciousness raising activities:the case of esp books in iran

examining english for academic purposes (eap) textbooks has gained momentum in recent years. on the other hand, due to the large number of vocabulary items in english, utilizing consciousness raising activities in textbooks would facilitate vocabulary learning. therefore, the present study aims at investigating vocabulary exercises incorporated in eap textbooks using the consciousness raising framework proposed by willis and willis (1996). in so doing, three textbooks namely english for the students of humanities (literature and languages, arts, architecture) (farjami, 2018), english for the students of psychology (pishghadam boori, 2017), english for the students of sociology (keshavarz nushi kochaksaraei, 2016), which were published by samt publishing house, were examined. the results indicated that in the books mentioned, non consciousness raising exercises outnumbered consciousness raising ones and among the categories of consciousness raising activities, exercises on reference training enjoyed the highest frequency and cross language exploration exercises were not identified in any of the three books. given the fact that consciousness raising exercises lead to facilitated learning, increased level of motivation, and learners’ aggregated attention, it’s recommended that authors of these books and as well as other authors publishing samt books take necessary actions to revise and include consciousness raising activities in eap books.
