ارزیابی و نقد شیوه‌ مدخل‌گزینی و معادل‌یابی در فرهنگ موضوعی فارسی به انگلیسی کولین ترنر

از جمله مواد و منابع آموزشی در حوزه آموزش یک زبان به سخنگویان دیگر زبان ها، فرهنگ های آموزشی‌ای است که به عنوان منابع واژگانی ارزشمند و کارآمد با رویکردی آموزشی و متفاوت از فرهنگ‌های عمومی تهیه و تدوین می‌گردند. هدف از انتشار این دسته از منابع، به عنوان آثاری مرجع، برآورده ساختن نیازهای فراگیران دیگر زبان‌هاست. بررسی معدود فرهنگ‌های موجود در حوزه‌ آموزش زبان فارسی به غیر فارسی‌زبانان بیانگر آن است که مشخصاً در خصوص فرهنگ‌های آموزشی دوزبانه‌ فارسی به انگلیسی، فرهنگ موضوعی فارسی انگلیسی، تالیفکولینترنر که نخستین بار در سال 2003 انتشارات پرآوازه روتلج منتشر کرد، مخاطبان بسیاری را به خود جلب نموده که انتشار بخش‌های متعدد آن در فضای مجازی نیز بر دامنه آن‌ها افزوده است. با توجه به اهمیت اجتناب‌ناپذیر این فرهنگ، در این مقاله ضمن معرفی آن، بر پایه‌ اصول و مبانی نوین فرهنگ‌نویسی، به‌طور مشخص درخصوص شیوه‌ مدخل‌گزینی، معادل‌یابی و واژه‌سازی به ارزیابی و نقد آن پرداخته شده است. نتایج حاکی است که این فرهنگ با وجود برخی امتیازها، شهرت و اعتبار با کاستی‌هایی بس جدی روبه‌روست.

An Evaluation and Criticism of the Selection of Entries and Equivalents in Collin Turner’s A Thematic Dictionary of Modern Persian

Learner’s dictionaries are among the educational resources which are used in teaching a language to the speakers of other languages. Such educational or pedagogical dictionaries, which are known as valuable and efficient works, are compiled differently from general dictionaries. The aim of compiling such works as reference ones is meeting the needs of foreign learners. The study of a few available dictionaries in the field of teaching Persian language to speakers of other languages reveals that specifically in the realm of Persian to English dictionaries, Collin Turner’s A Thematic Dictionary of Modern Persian which was published by Routledge in 2003 has gained the users’ attention more than other works. Due to the inevitable importance of this dictionary, this paper firstly introduces the work in brief, then studies and analyzes the selection of its entries, equivalents, etc. The findings indicate that although this work wins recognition, it suffers from many shortcomings.
