چکیده
|
Schistosomiasis is one of the most important endemic parasitic diseases. millions of people suffer severe illness related to schistosomiasis. the present study aimed to compare between the biochemical changes and oxidative stress in schistosoma mansoni infected mice treated with artemisia santonica and origanum syriacum by measuring serum alanine aminotransferase (alt), serum aspartate aminotransferase (ast), serum alkaline phosphatase (alp) and serum lactate dehydrogenase (ldh), total protein and albumin, cytokines and some oxidative stress parameters . the study reflected that that groups treated with crude extracts of o. syriacum, a. santonica and their aqueous fractions might be considered a promise anti-inflammatory and anti- schistosomal agent whereas they improve the alterations of biochemical and antioxidants parameters previously induced in schistosoma mansoni infected mice.
