   Kinetic and Equilibrium Studies on the Adsorption of Crystal Violet Dye Using Leucaena Leucocephala (Subabul) Seed Pods as an Adsorbent

چکیده    The use of low cost and eco friendly adsorbent prepared from leucaena leucocephala (subabul) seed pods has been studied for the removal crystal violet from aqueous solution. adsorbent were successfully used to remove the crystal violet from an aqueous solution in a batch process. the effects of various batch experimental parameters such as solution ph, contact time and adsorbent dosage were investigated and the optimal conditions were selected. the extent of crystal violet removal increased with the increased in, solution ph, contact time, dye concentration and amount of adsorbent used. the initial ph of 11 favors the adsorption of crystal violet. adsorption data was better fitted to the langmuir isotherm model with a correlation coefficient of 0.99 and the adsorption kinetic follow the pseudo second- order model.
