|
Α-fe2o3 (hematite) nanoparticles were synthesized using tragacanth gel as biotemplate and iron chloride as the iron source by the sol-gel method. this method has many advantages such as nontoxic, economic viability, ease to scale up, less time consuming and environmental friendly approach for the synthesis of α-fe2o3 nanoparticles without using any organic chemicals. nanoparticles were characterized by fourier transform infrared (ft-ir) spectroscopy, uv-visible spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction (xrd). the powder x-ray diffraction (xrd) analysis revealed the formation of rhombohedral phase α-fe2o3 with average particle size of 21 nm.
