   Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Estimation andValidation of Ofloxacin and Satranidazole in CombinedTablet Dosage Form

چکیده    Three simple, rapid, accurate and cost-effective methods, namely; simultaneous equation,absorbance ratio and dual wavelength spectroscopy have been developed for the simultaneous estimation of ofloxacin and satranidazole in combined tablet dosage form.ofloxacin showed absorbance maxima at 294 nm and satranidazole showed absorbanc emaxima at 318 nm in 0.1 n hcl solution. simultaneous equation method employs formation and solving simultaneous equations using 294 nm and 318 nm as two analytical wavelengths. the absorbance ratio was determined at 316 nm (iso-bestic point) and 294 nm((lambda) max of ofloxacin) and for estimation of one component by dual wavelength spectroscopy, two wave lengths were selected in which the absorbances of the other components were the same. all the thee methods were validated as per ich guidelines and were found to comprise the advantages for simplicity, stability, sensitivity, reproducibility,and accuracy for use in routine determination of the drugs in pharmaceutical formulation as the precision is good with acceptable limits of detection (lod) and quantitation (loq) for both compounds.
