Amine-modified mcm-41 was prepared through condensation reaction of the silanolfunctional groups of intemalpore surface ofmesoporous mcm-41 with methoxy groupsof 3-aminopropyl tricthoxysilane. cu (il) and/or fcflll) ions were grafted to the modifiedmcm-41 via the coordination of the amine groups or the other functional groups into themetal ion. the iron (ill) of a heme molecule connects to the modified mcm-41 via theformation of an amide bond between carboxylic acid groups of heme and amine groupsof the modified mcm-41, the products were characterized by x-ray diffraction powder,elemental analysis, aa-, ir- and druv-vis spectroscopies.
