|
2-hydroxyquinoline undergoes a smooth reaction with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylatcs in the presence of triphenylphosphine to produce the e/z isomers of dialkyl 2-[2-oxo-1 (2h)quinolinyl]-2-butenedioates in high yields.
