|
To investigate the antibacterial and antifungal activity of a benzimidazole derivative ofibuprofen. novel benzimidazole derivative was synthesized from ibuprofen with o-phenylenediarnine. new benzimidazole derivative was subjected to antibacterial efficacyagainst staphylococus aurcus atcc 250, pseudomonas aeruginosa atcc 25619,klebsilla pneumoniae atcc 10031, escherichia coli rskk 313 and antifungal efficacy against candida albicans rskk 628 were comparable to that of standard drugs. the benzimidazole derivative was found to be the most effective and showed antibacterial and antifungal activity against the entire organism tested. the minimum inhibitory concentration of benzimidazole derivative was found to the range 25 - 100 mg/ml ontested all the micro organisms
