Template Synthesis and Characterization of Mn(II),Co(II) & Zn(II)Complexes of 14-17-Membered N202Macrocycles

A novel series of j4- i7-membcred diaza-dioxa-macrocyclic complexes. [m li-9x2] [m =mn(ll). co(ii) and zn(ii); x = ci or n03], have been prepared by the template condensation reaction of 2-hydroxy benzaldehyde with 1,2-diamino ethane, 1,3-diamino propane oro-phcnylcnc diaminc and 1,2-dibromocthane, i,3-dibromo propane or o-xylcnc dibrornidcin 2: i: i molar ratio. the stoichiometry and coordination modes of the complexes have been deduced from ir, h nmr, epr and uv spectral data, conductivity and magnetic moment measurements. an octahedral geometry has been suggested for all complexes
