Heterobimetallic {[ti](μ-σ,π-c≡csime3)2}cuo2ccf3 (3) ([ti] = (η5-c5h4sime3)2ti) was synthesized by reacting the organometallic π-tweezer molecule [ti](c≡csime3)2 (1) with stoichiometric amounts of 1/n[cuo2ccf3]n (2). the structure of 3 in the solid state was determined by single x-ray structure analysis indicating that a mononuclear copper(i) carboxylate unit with a tri-coordinated copper atom is present. within this building block the titanium alkynyl ligands are chelate-bonded to the group-11 metal atom.
