چکیده    Proton-transfer compounds 4 and 5 of saccharin and nitrogen-containing aromatic derivatives were synthesised through mixing equimolar amounts of starting materials in ethanol. the self-assembly of 4 and 5 was investigated and illustrated in terms of crystal engineering and supramolecular chemistry. both compounds contain cationic and anionic fragments interacting through hydrogen bonding patterns to produce ionic supramolecular heterosynthon. compound 4 is monoclinic, space group p2(1)/c with unit cell dimensions a = 7.1068(4) å, b = 13.4537(7) å, c = 12.1912(7) å, α = 90°, β = 93.6880(10)°, γ = 90°; while compound 5 is orthorhombic, space group pbca with unit cell dimensions a = 13.8743(10) å, b = 12.4348(9) å, c = 14.4155(10) å, α = 90°, β = 90°, γ = 90°.
