The aim of this experiment was to determine the chemical composition and true metabolizable energy content of poultry by-product and evaluation the effect of east azerbaijan poultry by-product meal on broiler performance, carcass characteristics and blood parameters.chemical composition of poultry by-product meal was determined with standard methods and nitrogen corrected true metabolizable energy (tmen) of poultry by-product meal was determined with precision method.to evaluate broiler growth performance, a total of 3000 as-hatched broiler chicks (ross 308) from 15 to 49 days of age, was assigned to 6 treatments with 5 replicates using a completely randomized design.dietary treatments were 0 (as control), 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10% included levels of poultry by-product in the diets.the average of tmen and crude protein content of poultry by-product meal sample were 3680 kcal/kg and 54.81 %, respectively.the result of this experiment showed that the all performance parameters were significantly affected by the level of poultry by-product meal (p < 0.01).the broiler chickens fed with 8 % ofpoultry by-product mealhad the highest weight gain, relative empty body, breast and thigh weightsand the chickens fed with the control diet had the lowest performance (p < 0.01).the best feed convention ratio was observed in thechickens fed with 2 % of poultry by-product meal in the diet. regarding blood parameters,the results showed that all bloody parameters (ldl, hdl, triglyceride and totalcholesterol) were in the normal range. this experiment showed that the poultry by product meal could be supplemented to 8% in broiler chickens diet without any harmful effects.
