محنت در اندیشۀ سیمون وی

جهان همواره دستخوشِ شری ویرانگر بوده است و هر انسانی در مسیر زندگی‌اش رنج را به‌نحوی تجربه کرده است. پس اگر به دیدۀ اغماض به شر ننگریم، درمی‌یابیم که بررسی رنجِ بشری می‌تواند بخشی از پاسخ‌های انسان را در خصوص شر بدهد. سیمون وی، با مطرح کردنِ محنت، نه‌تنها در تلاش است به برخی پرسش‌های دربارۀ شر پاسخ دهد، بلکه به‌واسطۀ محنت انسان را با ابعاد دیگرش آشنا می‌سازد و آن را گامی در جهت خودشناسی معرفی می‌کند. برای انسانِ از خود بیگانۀ دنیایِ مدرن، پاسخ به چراییِ محنت، موهبتی رهایی‌بخش به موجب بازگشت به خویشتن حقیقی خویش است، چراکه آنچه انسان را حقیقتاً آزاد می‌کند، فهمِ حقیقت است و محنت انسان را در رسیدن به آن یاری می‌رساند. در این نوشتار به روش توصیفیتحلیلی و با مراجعه به آثار اصلی سیمون وی و شارحان او مسئلۀ محنت در اندیشۀ این بانوی فرانسوی بررسی می‌شود.

Affliction in Simone Weil’s Thought

The world has always been subject to a destructive evil, and every human being has experienced suffering in some way in his/her life. Therefore, if we do not look at evil with the connivance, we can find that the study of human suffering can constitute a part of the human’s answers about evil. By propounding affliction, Simon Weil not only tries to answer some questions about evil, but also introduces the human to his other dimensions through affliction, as she introduces it as a step towards selfknowledge. For the selfalienated human of the modern world, the answer to causes of affliction is a liberating gift due to his return to his true self, because what truly liberates the human is the understanding of truth, and affliction helps him to achieve it. Therefore, in this article, the issue of affliction in the thought of this French scholar is examined in a descriptiveanalytical manner by referring to Simone Weil’s main works and those of her commentators.
