بررسی مقطعی عوامل موثر بر انتخاب دندانپزشک کودکان توسط والدین

مقدمه: خدمات دندانپزشکی کودکان با چالش‌هایی چون هزینه بالا، دسترسی محدود و کمبود مهارت‌های رفتاری مواجه است. کیفیت خدمات نقش مهمی در انتخاب دندانپزشک توسط والدین دارد و عوامل متعددی مانند اعتماد، تجربه، امکانات مطب و توصیه اطرافیان در این تصمیم‌گیری موثرند. این مطالعه با هدف طراحی و اعتبارسنجی یک پرسشنامه بومی برای بررسی عوامل موثر بر انتخاب دندانپزشک کودکان 2 تا 6 ساله در مناطق 1 تا 6 تهران انجام شد.مواد و روش ها: این مطالعه از نوع مقطعی بوده و در سال 1400 در دانشکده دندانپزشکی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی تهران انجام شد. پرسشنامه‌ای ساختارمند با بهره‌گیری از مطالعات معتبر بین‌المللی طراحی و با در نظر گرفتن تفاوت‌های فرهنگی، اجتماعی و اقتصادی جامعه ایرانی بومی‌سازی شد. این ابزار پژوهشی برای بررسی عوامل موثر بر انتخاب دندانپزشک کودکان توسط والدین کودکان 2 تا 6 ساله در مهدکودک‌های مناطق 1 تا 6 تهران و همچنین برای جمع‌آوری اطلاعات جمعیت‌شناختی والدین طراحی گردید. اعتبار و پایایی پرسشنامه توسط پنل تخصصی شامل دندانپزشکان کودکان، متخصص بهداشت دهان و اپیدمیولوژیست تایید شد. حجم نمونه با استفاده از نرم‌افزار pass و بر اساس تحلیل رگرسیون خطی چندگانه تعیین شد. داده‌های گردآوری‌شده با نرم‌افزار spss و روش رگرسیون خطی تحلیل شدند.یافته ها: یافته‌ها نشان داد که عوامل کلیدی در انتخاب دندانپزشک شامل ارتباط گرم با کودک (95/6٪)، احترام به بیمار (95/1٪)، نظافت مطب (94/6٪)، مدیریت مشکلات رفتاری (91/7٪) و استفاده از تجهیزات به‌روز (90/2٪) هستند. عواملی چون جنس دندانپزشک و نزدیکی مطب به مدرسه کمتر اهمیت داشتند (35/3٪).نتیجه‌گیری: یافته‌های مطالعه نشان داد که ارتباط موثر با کودک، احترام به بیمار و بهداشت محیط مطب از عوامل کلیدی در تصمیم‌گیری والدین برای انتخاب دندان‌پزشک کودکان هستند. ارتقاء این مولفه‌ها در رفتار حرفه‌ای و فضای درمانی می‌تواند رضایت بیماران را افزایش داده و مزیت رقابتی موثری برای دندان‌پزشکان فراهم سازد.

a cross-sectional study investigating factors influencing parents' choice of pediatric dentists for young children

background: pediatric dental care face challenges such as high costs, limited access, and behavioral management gaps. service quality significantly influences parents’ choice of dentists, with factors like trust, experience, clinic facilities, and peer recommendations playing key roles. this study aimed to develop and validate a culturally adapted questionnaire to assess factors affecting parental selection of pediatric dentists for children aged 2–6 in districts 1–6 of tehran.methods and materials: this cross-sectional study was conducted in 2021 at the school of dentistry, tehran university of medical sciences. a structured questionnaire was developed based on validated international sources and culturally adapted to reflect the social and economic context of iranian society. the instrument aimed to assess key factors influencing parental choice of pediatric dentists for children aged 2–6 attending kindergartens in districts 1–6 of tehran, as well as to collect demographic data of participating parents. the questionnaire’s validity and reliability were confirmed by an expert panel comprising pediatric dentists, a public oral health specialist, and an epidemiologist. sample size was calculated using pass software based on multiple linear regression parameters. data analysis was performed using spss with linear regression modeling.results: the findings revealed that key factors influencing parents' choices included the dentist's friendly and effective communication with the child (95.6%), respecting the patient (95.1%), cleanliness of the office environment (94.6%), management of children's behavioral issues (91.7%), use of modern equipment and techniques (90.2%), effective communication between the staff and child (89.7%), waiting times (81.9%), provision of comprehensive treatment information (80.9%), and the dentist's appearance (75.5%). conversely, factors such as the dentist's gender and proximity to the child's school were deemed less important (35.3%).conclusion: the study identified effective communication with children, patient respect, and dental office cleanliness as key determinants in parents’ choice of pediatric dentists. improving these aspects in clinical practice may increase patient satisfaction and offer a competitive advantage in pediatric dental practice.
