Prizedistraction : یک تکنیک هدایت رفتاری تلفیقی برای کاهش درد و اضطراب بیماران دندانپزشکی کودک

مقدمه: اضطراب کودکان و عدم همکاری آنها حین درمان های دندانپزشکی، مدیریت رفتاری آنها را تبدیل به چالشی بزرگ برای دندانپزشکان و خانواده ها نموده است. هدف از این مطالعه، معرفی تکنیکی جدید در زمینه هدایت رفتاری کودکان به نام prize distraction و مقایسه ی اثربخشی آن با تکنیک پرت کردن حواس رایج بود.شرح مورد: ما در این مطالعه گزارش مورد، اقدام به درمان دنداپزشکی 3 کیس (شامل 2 پسربچه و یک دختر بچه) با استفاده از روش های هدایت رفتاری “prizedistraction” و storytelling distraction با طراحی splitmouth (cross over) نمودیم و واکنش های رفتاری کودکان را با استفاده از معیار sound eye motor (sem) در زمان تزریق بی حسی موضعی و حین کشیدن دندان ها ارزیابی نمودیم. نتایج ما نشان داد نمونه ها در حین درمان با استفاده از روش “prize distraction” واکنش های رفتاری کمتری نسبت به درمان به کمک تکنیک storytelling distraction نشان دارند.  نتیجه گیری: در هر سه کیس، نتایج مجموع امتیازات معیار sem در زمان های مختلف، حین استفاده از تکنیک prizedistraction مقادیر کمتری نسبت به تکنیک دیگر بود. به نظر می رسد تکنیک prize distraction بتواند در زمینه هدایت رفتاری کودکان حین اعمال دندانپزشکی، نتایج نویدبخشی را به همراه داشته باشد. لازم است مطالعات بیشتری به بررسی اثربخشی این تکنیک جدید بپردازند.

PrizeDistraction: A Combinatory Behavior Guidance Technique for Decreasing the Anxiety and Pain of Pediatric Dental Patients

Introduction: The anxiety of children and their lack of cooperation during dental treatments have made their behavioral management a great challenge for dentists and families. This study aimed to introduce a new technique in children’s behavioral guidance called PrizeDistraction and compare its efficacy with a conventional distraction technique.Case Report: This case series study was performed on the dental treatment of three cases (two boys and one girl) using behavioral guidance methods of PrizeDistraction and StoryTelling Distraction with a splitmouth (cross over) design. The children’s behavioral reactions were evaluated using the Sound Eye Motor (SEM) scale during local anesthesia injection and tooth extraction procedures. Our results showed that the samples showed fewer behavioral reactions during the treatment using the PrizeDistraction method, compared to the StoryTelling Distraction technique.Conclusion: In all three cases, the results of the sum of SEM scores at different times when using the PrizeDistraction technique were lower than those in the other technique. It seems that the PrizeDistraction technique can have promising results in guiding children’s behavior during dental procedures. Further studies are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of this new technique.
