چکیده
|
At the happy ending of vitreoretinal surgeryfor proliferative diabetic retinopathy, whenall proliferative fibrovascular tissues havebeen suc ces s ful ly removed, panret inalphotocoagulation is completed and there isno iatrogenic break, the surgeon may wonderwhether to consider any other interventionbefore closing the case. this question arisesin microincision vitrectomies as well as withtraditional 20 gauge techniques. severalmaneuvers have been proposed in the literatureincluding gas-fluid exchange with a nonexpandableair-gas mixture, cryotherapy of thesclerotomy sites, injection of bevacizumab and/or triamcinolone acetonide, or any combinationthereof.
