بررسی راهکارهای درمانی پروتزی در بیماران مبتلا به زروستومیا و بی‌دندانی کامل: مروری بر مقالات

زمینه و هدف: زروستومیا شرایط بالینی است که می تواند کیفیت و کمیت بزاق بیماران مبتلا را تغییر دهد. بزاق یک عامل مهم درگیر پروتزهای متحرک افراد بی دندان است، به نحوی که افزایش شیوع زروستومیا در جوامع امروزی یک عامل محدود کننده در کیفیت گیر دنچر به شمار می رود. در این مقاله مروری به تکنیک های نوین ساخت دنچر در افراد بی دندان مبتلا به زروستومیا پرداخته و مزایا و معایب آن ها بررسی شده است. روش بررسی: مطالعه حاضر به صورت مرور شواهد موجود در پایگاه های داده ای الکترونیک صورت گرفت. با استفاده از واژگان کلیدیxerostomia، hypofunction، hyposalivation، artificial saliva reservoir، flexible dentures در پایگاه های اینترنتی google scholar و pubmed، از اولین تاریخ در دسترس تا سال 2018، روش های ساخت دنچر های انعطاف پذیر و دنچر های حاوی مخزن بزاق مصنوعی فک بالا و پایین و مزایا و معایب هر روش جستجو شد و در نهایت به بررسی 10 مقاله مرتبط با ساخت دنچر های کامل در افراد مبتلا به زروستومیا پرداخته شد.نتیجه گیری: بررسی فالوآپ های این بیماران نشان داد که دنچرهای انعطاف پذیر و اسپلیت دنچرهای حاوی مخزن بزاقی، کمک ویژه ای به آن ها نموده و می تواند به عنوان یک گزینه درمانی موفق در این شرایط مد نظر باشد.

Various prosthetic treatment options in complete edentulous patients with xerostomia: A literature review

Background and Aims: Xerostomia is a clinical condition that can affect the quality and quantity of saliva. Saliva is considered an important factor in retention of edentulous patient’s denture wearers. Thus, increasing the prevalence of xerostomia in modern societies is considered a limiting factor in the quality of denture retention. This article reviews the most common techniques of denture manufacturing in edentulous patients with xerostomia and investigates the advantages versus disadvantages of each.Materials and Methods: In this review, PubMed and google scholar search engines were searched for the following keywords: Flexible Denture, Artificial Saliva Reservoir, Hyposalivation, Hypofunction, and Xerostomia. We evaluated the flexible dentures and dentures with artificial saliva reservoirs in both jaws along with their advantages and disadvantages. 10 articles, specifically discussing complete denture fabrication in patients were selected.Conclusion: Followup results showed that the flexible dentures and split dentures with saliva reservoirs to be effective in improving the quality of life of these patients and therefore can be a considered as a successful treatment option in the prosthetic rehabilitation of these patients.
