the intersection of the discourse of the islamic revolution and critiques of western thought

Authors rezaei azar ,keshishyan siraki garineh ,khodaverdi hassan
Abstract    the discourse of the islamic revolution grounded in core elements such as justice, freedom, independence, and spirituality, has sought to respond to the crises of modern civilization—ranging from structural injustice and unrestrained liberties to global domination and the spiritual void of modern societies. on the other hand, strands of western thought, particularly within critical theory, have similarly addressed these issues, offering profound critiques of modernity and warning against its social and moral consequences. a comparative examination of these two realms reveals shared concerns at their core: the convergence of the islamic revolution’s pursuit of justice with the economic critiques of thinkers such as stiglitz and piketty; the alignment of responsible freedom with critiques of individualist liberalism; the affinity of independence-seeking with chomsky’s anti-imperialist theories; and the common anxiety over the collapse of spirituality echoed in the works of macintyre and taylor. although emerging from different epistemological foundations, these shared concerns create opportunities for theoretical interaction and intercultural dialogue. such intersections, beyond mere conceptual comparison, may contribute to the development of alternative models that, while preserving the indigenous identity of the islamic revolution, enable intellectual synergy with justice-oriented and spirituality-seeking movements in the west, thus opening new horizons for joint engagement with global crises.
