Abstract
in today’s competitive environment, organizations must balance exploratory and exploitative activities in order to maintain both efficiency and innovation. this paper presents a dynamic model for process‑level resource allocation that integrates three theoretical foundations: a matrix-based framework grounded in customer and technology knowledge, resource allocation under competitive constraints, and the dynamics of resource shifting with temporal switching costs. the ee matrix framework, first introduced by hiroshi iizuka in 2022, models an organization’s capability to acquire and leverage knowledge across four domains: continuous improvement, technology development, market development, and radical innovation. in this study, the framework is extended dynamically by incorporating the concept of periodic oscillation across matrix domains to simulate organizational behavior under competitive pressure and resource constraints. the conceptual findings indicate that resource-rich organizations exhibit a u-shaped allocation pattern, shifting between exploitation‑ and exploration‑driven incentives at an optimal level, whereas resource‑constrained organizations display a more focused and low‑volatility pattern. by offering a conceptual algorithm for dynamic resource allocation, the model enables managers to design optimal pathways for sustaining innovation and achieving long‑term growth. from a theoretical standpoint, the model deepens the linkages among organizational ambidexterity, the ee knowledge matrix, and resource dynamics, thereby addressing an operational gap in the existing literature.
