This study presents a standardized computational framework for the assessment of air–sea heat exchanges across the persian gulf(pg), gulf of oman(go), and arabian sea(as), using long-term reanalysis datasets (ecmwf-era5, 1979–2021). the approach was designed in accordance with wmo–gcos and iso 19115 standards for marine data quality and metadata governance. the workflow integrates data harmonization, multi-source validation, and metadata traceability, ensuring full reproducibility of results across institutions and projects. beyond the numerical characterization of flux components, this work demonstrates how the adoption of standardized data processing protocols can enhance regional interoperability, support risk-informed decision-making, and contribute to sustainable marine industrial operations. the study culminates in the proposal of a regional marine data standardization protocol (rmdsp), a scalable framework aimed at unifying data structures, quality control thresholds, and reporting formats for marine industries in the persian gulf region. by aligning scientific practice with international standardization principles, this work contributes to the broader vision of ssmi: enabling trustworthy, comparable, and industry-ready marine environmental information for safer and more resilient maritime development. reliable and standardized assessment of surface heat fluxes is essential for ensuring safe and sustainable operations in marine industries. this study develops a standardized computational framework for evaluating air–sea heat exchanges in the persian pg, go, and as using long-term era5 reanalysis data. four major flux components, latent (ql), sensible (qs), shortwave (qsw), and longwave (qlw) were analyzed. the methodology follows international data management principles (wmo–gcos, iso 19115) and integrates quality control, harmonization, and validation steps.
